Hello Friends,
Laura’s Guide takes the holidays! Welcome to Laura’s Gift Guide! Throughout Blogmas, I will cover gift ideas focused on specific mental health struggles. Today, we will cover gift ideas for the anxious person in your life. As an anxious girly myself, I can back these gifts from my personal experiences. They are some of my favourite coping and relaxation tools!
Heated Blanket: Heated blankets encourage relaxation in the body and mind, which can release tension caused by anxiety. They can also help improve sleep, which is often hindered by anxiety. Not to mention, they are a nice treat for anyone living in a chilly climate, making them a great gift for the anxious person in your life.
Guided Journal: As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, journaling is a great grounding exercise, a great mindfulness practice, and a way to release built-up emotion. However, many people struggle with what to write. So, a guided journal is a perfect solution and a great gift for the anxious person in your life.
Essential Oils: Essential oils are a great addition to anyone’s self-care toolkit, especially those with anxiety. They reduce stress hormones, which can calm anxiety. Essential oils also promote relaxation, which reduces anxiety. Specific essential oils that would make the best gift for the anxious person in your life include lavender, lemongrass, and jasmine.
Colouring Book: Colouring as journaling is a great mindfulness ritual. It is also proven to reduce anxiety and help both the mind and body relax. This one is easy to customize to the likes of the person you are giving it to. You could get one themed to a travel spot, animal, or TV show they enjoy, making it a special and useful gift for the anxious person in your life.
Self-Care Night Kit: This kit could include face masks, bath bombs, silk pyjamas, tea, and any other relaxation or self-care supplies you can think of. Anxiety is exhausting, so putting together a little self-care night kit that the anxious person in your life can simply enjoy is a thoughtful and meaningful gift. Not to mention, it will help them relax and unwind whenever they choose to do so.
Laura’s gift guide will have more entries coming soon, so if you have any specific mental health struggles you would like me to cover, please let me know in the comments below. Make sure you subscribe so you never miss a post.
Until Tomorrow, My Friends!
