Laura’s Guide To Making a Bad Day Better

Hello Friends,

Bad days and moments are part of life. They are guaranteed to happen here and there. However, a bad moment doesn’t need to make a bad day, and a bad day doesn’t mean a bad week, month, and/or year. So, in this week’s installment of Laura’s Guide, I will give my best tips for turning a bad day around.

Tip 1: Step away – When something frustrates or upsets you, those emotions will continue creeping back until you can get away from them. So take a moment and step away from whatever is upsetting you. Whether this means physically stepping away and going for a walk or mentally going to your happy place, remove yourself from the situation to allow your emotions to simmer down and your thoughts to take a break from it.

Tip 2: Remind Yourself It Will Pass – Take a deep breath and remember this is simply a bad moment. In a couple of days, it won’t matter anymore. Pick your head up, dust yourself off and keep going. You have beat 100% of your hard days, and this one will be no different. You got this!

Tip 3: Talk to Someone You Love – Whether you physically see them or just give them a quick call, chatting to a loved one gives you a chance to rant and get anything you need off your chest. It is also a chance to get some perspective on the situation and could act as a pick-me-up or comfort.

Tip 4: Have a Feel Good Go-To List – If your day has turned into a series of unfortunate events, it helps to have some go-to pick-me-ups to fall back on. These could be watching a favourite movie, cooking or ordering a favourite meal, snuggling with your pet, getting lost in a book, taking a bath, or anything in between.

Remember that bad days don’t last forever, but they do help us appreciate the good days. Remember, a bad moment doesn’t make a bad day. The bad doesn’t have to spread and carry over unless you allow it to. You got this! Remember to subscribe so you never miss joining in on the conversation!

Until next week, My Friends!

P.S. I’m proud of you 😉
