Happy First Day of Summer, and Welcome to No Stress Summer!
What is No Stress Summer? I am so glad you asked! It sounds like a fantasy, right? Well, it doesn’t have to be that way. No Stress Summer is a series I’m hosting on my blog and social media platforms, designed to bring you tips, challenges, and fun to help you eliminate stress in your life this summer. Each week, I will test a different proven method for reducing stress and report back to you on whether it’s worth trying for you.
I will be posting No Stress Summer-themed content every day on my social media, so be sure to check it out here. You can also look forward to two new blog posts each week, one every Monday, about the challenge I completed the previous week. I will bring you the science behind it and provide you with my honest opinion and results. The other, every Thursday, will continue my Summer Fun Series, which I started with my last blog post.
But why No Stress Summer? Where did the idea come from?… Another great question! Allow me to fill you in.
No Stress Summer was born out of reflection. I was lying on the floor, contemplating life (as I often do), and I found myself thinking about last summer. Last summer was a struggle for me. It marked the beginning of many changes in my life. Change I did not feel ready for. June to September 2024 was four straight months of chronic stress. I woke up every morning with a stomachache because I was so stressed, and thus, I named it “Stressed Girl Summer.”
Reflecting on ‘Stressed Girl Summer’ got me thinking about what I wanted this upcoming summer to look like. Naturally, my initial thought was that I hope this summer is a no-stress summer(there it is!) Knowing that it would be no simple feat, I got to thinking about how I could accomplish it. I came up with the idea of doing a 50-day challenge to keep me motivated. I jotted down the changes I wanted to make in my life: the old habits I wanted to break and the new ones I wanted to adopt. One change I wanted to make was to get back into creating content. (making videos, writing blog posts, etc.) So I thought, why not share my challenge?
Now, while I was working through the logistics and coming up with content ideas, the original idea evolved into what No Stress Summer is today. Going into this summer, I initially felt uneasy and nervous. I was fearful about the events of last summer repeating itself. But then I decided to stop focusing on the negatives and the what-ifs, and instead, I decided to reclaim summer. I became determined to have a No-Stress Summer! This summer, is all about feeling good! It’s about having fun, being in the moment, trying new things, and not letting fear or stress run my life!
